Between Uzbek and Turkmen business circles, online meeting was held

Representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan held an online video conference. The event, organized on October 7 via the Zoom platform, was attended by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Dovletgeldi Rejepov as chairmen of national branches of the Business Council of the two countries.

The remote meeting was attended by more than 30 representatives of the two countries, as well as the chairman of the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan Mukhtor Umarov.

  • The issues of cooperation in industry, transport, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and agriculture were considered within the framework of the action plan. The sides also discussed issues of assistance in finding partners in the difficult period of the global economy caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the establishment of partnerships between business representatives of the two countries through the provision of B2B format negotiations.

    During the online dialogue, a presentation of the main promising sectors of the Uzbek economy was made. The participants of Turkmenistan were briefed on the results of economic reforms in Uzbekistan, the conditions created for investment and doing business in the country.

    It should be noted that today there are 148 enterprises with Turkmen capital and 66 joint ventures in Uzbekistan. This, in turn, indicates the establishment of partnership with the Turkmen state in the economic and social spheres, indicating the existence of mutually beneficial cooperation for both countries!

    During the talks, the representatives of Turkmenistan praised the pace of socio-economic development of Uzbekistan over the past three years and the country's efforts to expand trade and economic relations with foreign countries.

    At the end of the event, promising plans were identified to promote the development of cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries, create conditions for finding new partnerships, as well as address specific problems in business between businessmen of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
